COVID-19 Update

TORONTO MARATHON Will Not Take Place in May 2021

We have been working with the City of Toronto and guided by Provincial health authorities to best determine how and when we can safely hold our event. The recent announcements by several pharmaceutical companies of successful vaccine trials is welcome news. However, with approximately 5 months to our traditional race day, it does not appear likely that there will be widespread vaccinations by early May.

The safety and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers, and spectators is paramount, and it is because of this that we have decided to postpone The Toronto Marathon traditionally held the first Sunday in May to May 2022. We will continue to assess all elements of the race organization and priorities to determine the feasibility of our next event.

All participants who had been deferred to next year will now be automatically deferred to 2022. You do not need to do anything, as you are already registered. Please click here for more information on frequently asked questions.

We are optimistic that the Toronto Marathon and many other running events will take place when it is safe to do so and look forward to running with you in the near future.
