Transportation

Entrants are responsible for arriving at the start line no later than 1/2 hour before scheduled start.

Note: The TTC does not operate subway service before 9:00 AM on Sunday. TTC surface routes operate on regular Sunday hours. Parking is available near the race start. Check map below. Shuttle buses to the Start Line will be available for participants with a valid shuttle bus ticket (stamped on bib). Tickets are available for $8.00 each during registration. Shuttle bus tickets must be bought online by April 21as they will not be available at the Expo. Shuttle buses will depart from the Hilton Hotel (Richmond Street and University Avenue), Courtyard Marriott Hotel (Yonge Street and College Street), and Ontario Place at the Guest Services Building on Remembrance Drive just south of Lot 2 from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM.


Bag Check

All participants may check their bags at the trucks located just south of Mel Lastman Square on the South side of North York Blvd. Marathon participants MUST check their bag by 7:10 AM. Half Marathon participants MUST check their bag by 7:45 AM.  If you miss these times, your bag will NOT be transported to our finish area. Please bring your own bag if you wish to check items before the race. Be sure to attach the tag, provided on the bottom of your bib, to your bag for proper identification. Do not pack valuables. Your bag will be waiting for you in the bag check area at the finish line (west end of the finish area). Be vigilant! Should you notice anything suspicious, notify a race official or police immediately.


Important Safety Note

For the safety of all participants, we strongly recommend not wearing iPods or similar devices which inhibit your ability to hear surrounding sounds. This is a danger to fellow participants and yourself if you cannot hear direction from a race official, event participant, or emergency vehicles.


Goodwill Clothing Donations

The Goodwill truck will be on-site at start to accept any clothing donations. Your donations will help those in your local communities gain new job skills for their future. To learn more about Goodwill, visit www.goodwill.on.ca.

Tracking is available – please see the Sportstats team at our Expo (located at the front of Hall D to the left of the main entrance doors) for information on live results on Facebook.

Aid Stations

There will be Aid Stations along the route at least every 4km, supplying participants with water, Gatorade, bananas, and toilets.  If you are in distress, please inform a race official immediately.


The Course

The 1st mile, every 5th mile, and each km are marked. Split times are called at 1 mile in both the Marathon and Half Marathon. Clocks will be located at the Start, halfway point of the Marathon, and Ontario Place. The Marathon markers are blue and the Half Marathon markers are orange. All participants on the course after 6 hours may be asked to move onto the sidewalk and obey normal traffic laws. Race marshals will pull any person running without a bib off the course. We urge paying participants to discourage anyone from participating unofficially.

NO BIB, NO RUN!


Entertainment

As well as the entertainment at each Aid Station, additional “Entertainment Stations” featuring a variety of music or cheering will be located along the course to help keep you motivated and get you to the finish line. If you know of a band, or entertainer who may be interested in supporting a great cause, please let us know at 416-920-3466.


Finish Area

Remember to smile and keep your hands away from your bib number as you cross the finish line for your official picture by MarathonFoto! Bib numbers need to clearly visible so that you can be identified.  After you cross the finish line, proceed to the end of the chute as quickly as possible. Medals, food, massages, and medical assistance are all available. The Family Reunion area will be located just outside the chute.


Post Race

Runners will be provided with Gatorade, water, bagels, bananas, and oranges in the Food Tent. Milk 2 Go, McDonald’s coffee, and other vendors will be on site for both participants and spectators. All leftover food will be donated to Second Harvest. A team of Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) and physiotherapists will be available to all Full and Half Marathoners to help work out some of the aches and pains you may be feeling. A very experienced medical team, including chiropodists, will be on hand to assist any participant in need at the medical tent located at the base of the finish chute.


After the Race

Take the pedestrian bridge just west of the finish area across Lake Shore Blvd. to the parking lot at Exhibition Place where shuttle buses will be parked to take participants to the Courtyard Marriott, Hilton and subway. Alternatively, it is recommended that participants use the TTC streetcars (public transportation) from the Exhibition Place grounds to either Bathurst or Union subway stations. There is no shuttle service back to Mel Lastman Square.
